This course aims to enable the students to understand the development of science fiction as one of literary genres and to appreciate its major works. The topics include hard science fiction, romance, horror, detective, extra-terrestrial, extra sensory perception, and so forth.
I believe that life is not easy, so many people nowadays complaining about their lives instead of thanking and appreciating it. Therefore, with this story we learn that everything we do in our lives cannot be undoing so never regret any of it, even if we are in the worst condition. That is why if we already made our decision we must fight for it, even though if our decision was wrong. So then, we can learn how to make things right and not masking the same mistake twice.
ReplyDeleteThe weakness of the story is that, of course the story is so tragic. This story is very good because it makes us to think again before we do something.

ReplyDeletelife and death, in my opinion, have the same similarity. both are mystery. no one will know what will happen in their life and what will happen in their death. but, life has values that will always be preserved. in life we are given the ability to struggle, to use our free will to choose what kind of life we want to live in, to make relationship with others and most of all to understand that life and everything around is a gift.
ReplyDeletethe weakness in the story is the appearance of the girl, seems it's too contrived. she wears simple clothes instead of space suit when the pilot found her. I think it's impossible for the girl or everyone to manage space flight with that clothes. maybe the purpose is to give the characteristic of a naive girl. also it needs to be explained more how the girl can manage to hide in the spaceship without being detected. I think the technology will detect her before the ship is launched or she shouldn't be able to avoid the strict supervision.
Life and Death actually are the God's blessing for us human. Life is a blessing so do Death. If death do not exist we right now won't be able to exist. Only Adam and Eve would exist. That is why actually death is a blessing. Maybe many people said that death is a curse, but for me death is a blessing. Because through death, we can finally meet face to face with God in His Kingdom. The value is to appriciate both life and death. This story makes me think about why should we afraid to die? and why should we afraid to live? But the weakness in this story is, it shown that the relation between human's life and human's rule. Human tend to obey the rules that have been created by human rather than rules that have been created by God.
ReplyDeletei think life and death are two things which cannot be separated. we cannot choose our life or our death because it has written by God. we only could accept it and do our best during our life. thus, we will not regret with our life and we could face our death peacefully. we have no power in deciding when we should die because only God who knows it. and we also do not have a power to take someone's life only for fulfilling the rule. life is a valuable thing and there's no thing can replace it.
ReplyDeletei think the weakness of the story is the part when someone prefers to take the girl's life for the sake of human's rule. as human being, this kind of thing should not happen because only God who has a power to take someone's life. God is the one who creates us so that God also has a right to take our life.
